Hi all,
I have been simulating a b series marine propeller open water simulation. Created a body around the propeller and given rotation to it. And created an interface also. Simulation is working fine. But the obtained results(thrust and torque) are in oscillatory nature. kindly check the images. Results are some what coming closer to the actual once (within 10 %), if i take the average of this oscillatory forces. Can anyone suggest how to reduce the oscillations in the results...? Is it due to the prism layer issues ? (I have used around 25 layers and y plus values seems correct). Will reducing under relaxation factor make any change in the simulation...? i have used time step of 1 deg/s. Mesh is also finer...around 5m cells. And volumetric refinements are also given. Can anyone help on this issue....I have ran upto 8 rotations....still it is same...Or should i run for a longer duration Thank you in advance. |

What makes you think that real performance (thrust and torque) is not oscillatory?
