Hello all,
for my CFD module at university, I am doing a study on rear wing design. I have done some airfoil testing and have created a rear wing for a 350z in Inventor. I am looking to produce Lift numbers for both the car with and without the wing installed. I have run 2 coefficient reports for the x and y directions and two force reports in both the x and y directions. I am somehow getting 33,000 newtons of positive lift on the car without the wing, and I am looking for some guidance on what I am doing incorrectly here. I have the base pressure set to 1 bar, My pressure option is force+sheer, the part selected is the car within the subtract on the region level, and the test is run at 35 m/s. I am expecting some positive lift on the car, but 33,000 newtons seems incredibly high. I have searched around Star CCM and have not found success. any guidance is greatly appreciated.
