Hi,
I've been trying to do a 2D automated mesh on a simple wing on a standard square domain. The domain and wing was created on 3D-CAD I subtracted both parts to get a hollow domain. I created and executed the "badge for 2D meshing" and the input part for this operation is the model domain. However, when I create the operation "automated mesh (2D)" and I go to select an input part the screen is blank and gives me no options to select. I'm a bit confused as I was able to execute the badge to 2D mesh but now can't do an automated mesh. Any help is very much appreciated. Thank you |

The problem is related to the placement of the cad in the coordinate system. The z plane should be aligned with any one face of the cad, only then the automated 2d mesh option can work.
If you extruded the cad symmetrically in both directions the reference (0,0,0) is inside the geometry. I suggest you move the cad and align with the reference point or extrude in one direction only. Hope this helps!! |
