In a 3D model (in STAR CCM+) I need to extract the minimum Z coordinate given the X, Y coordinates.

For example, in the point (0,0) I would like to know the minimum Z coordinate.

Thanks in advance

minimum report of a position threshold

although that will return cell center values, not the furthest edge

thanks for the reply but it's probably not what I need ...

I'm looking for a procedure (with field function) with a surface and X, Y coordinates as input and Z coordinate as output

bluebase will become famous soon enough
Make a scalar field function with $Postion[2] as input. Then a minimum report on your surface part with that user field function.

I am not sure whether Centroid is a better option here. Consult the manual regarding that question.

You should be able to get that report's value as field function as well--in order to use it in another function.
