Has STAR-CCM+ given any of you problems in the past when trying to open it? The program runs but does not display on the screen. “Design STAR-CCM+ simulation completed. Server process ended unexpectedly (return code 8)” is the warning which I get when I try to open a project directly. I have tried uninstalling the program and reinstalling it multiple times, but the error seems to persist. Any help on this would be appreciated.

The manual states that exit code 8 means a licensing error occurred.
In the 2020 manual (v15), you'll find this information in the following path: StarCCM > Client-Server Setup > Client-Server Connections > Running the Client in Batch You might have missed to set licensing options when you run in batch. Have a look into that article from the manual: StarCCM > Client-Server Setup > Command-Line Reference or, if you want to run the Design Manager: StarCCM > Design Manager > Design Manager Reference > Command Line Options Reference |
