Hi,
I'm wanting some help please with modelling a propeller using a rotation reference frame. I currently have three parts (Part 1 = Fuselage Body with Propeller/Spinner, Part 2 = Wind Tunnel (Rectangular Prism), Part 3 = Cylinder around propeller [to be used for moving reference frame]). How do I use the Boolean Subtract feature to correctly set up the model in terms of input and target parts? I currently have the wind tunnel domain set up as Part 1 and Part 2 being the Input, and Part 2 as Target. Now when I want to model motion, I'm unsure of how to set up Part 3 Correctly. Is it fine that the Propeller and Spinner are attached to the fuselage body as one part (Party 1), or must they be split up separately as another... e.g. part 4? Thank you so much. I'm pretty sure - following tutorials from the User Guide would help you a lot:

Thanks for the reply cwl,
Yes, I've gone through the tutes and understand the process. What I'm stuck with is how I should make the domains. For example, in the Open water propeller, they have the rotating region as the propeller, spinner and cylindrical reference frame. But there's no mention of whether they used a boolean subtract to position it in the domain or how to set up the initial parts. That's what I don't understand. |
