Hello everyone,
I would like to simulate DEM particles filling up a filter funnel where the outlet is closed during the filling process. After that I would like to liberate particles to a container near the outlet of the funnel. Does anyone has any idea on this? Thanks a lot |

have the outlet as a wall boundary during filling and to release the particles change it to non-wall boundary

Hello, thanks for your suggestion. I am able to do this correctly now. But what if the outlet is a surface that connects two different body?
As far as I know (not sure about this), it is not possible to insert a surface inside a 3D body, or am I wrong? Please correct me if it is wrong |

easy to do by creating two region joined with an interface which starts as a baffle interface to block the particles and then is changed to an in place interface to let them pass. can also be done by having phase specific blockage at an interface or boundary for when one phase can pass eg a carrier gas but not a second phase.
