Hello,
I have an problem on my simulation on STARCCM. Everything seems to work fine until I have some issues (check the picture). I can see that the solution diverges at one moment. The problem is that the calcul time is already huge and I can’t use a thiner mesher. The system tested is a system aiming at separating oil and gaz from a melange with a rotor rotating at 10000 rpm. Here are some technical feature I used to run the simulation : Physics Models : Segregated flow (VOF) Multiphase interaction Implicit unsteady Three dimensional Two Layer All y + wall treatment Gravity Exact wall distance Gradients Volumic mesher : Surface remesher, automatic surface Repair Tetrahedrale Mesher Prism Layer Mesher Base size 0.005 Pert Part meshing Surface curvature 90 Help appreciated ! vof is not really the correct multiphase model for separation although there are some recent additions that might help a little. i suggest you use eulerian multiphase - the help explains what the wide range of multiphase models are good for.
