Local surface mesher remeshing unchanged geometries

I have the issue where the automated mesh operation (remesher) with local surface mesh turned on creates a new mesh for totally unchanged geometries.
So I have a part based meshing pipeline where I imported half car surfaces and duplicated them. I use a transform operation to mirror the duplicates to get the full car. I then zip all the surfaces and the domain to get a closed manifold surface of my problem. The zip operation is set to 'New Description - Discrete' (I also tried with 'New Part - CAD'). I then use the remesher with local surface meshing turned on and local extents for each car part with the goal of only remeshing parts of the car that got changed (replaced by new geometries). When I swap out the front wing geometry (with the same parasolid file for now) but leave everything else untouched, it seems like it is remeshing much more than just the front wing and the mesh on the chassis even change slightly (see image below).Have you encountered anything like this before and know a solution? It is worth mentioning that I use filters (dynamic queries) to select the input parts for the part operations (mostly 'tag contains ... ') I am using STAR-CCM+ v2020.1 on Windows 10 IMAGES: https://imgur.com/a/ECWYV6u |
