Hi there,

Thanks for adding me to the forum, i hope to be able to help others as well as learn from the discussions!

I am trying to replicate a simulation demonstrated in 2016 during a presentation from (then) CD-adapco.

The link below is to the pdf of the presentation..

http://2016.oversetgridsymposium.org...16-uhlmann.pdf

I am trying to replicate the first case, where the regular overset interface is used.. but all i end up with is either a model that wont run or a moving region that slides up and down in the background region without being trimmed when it gets to the top of the cylinder.

If i understand right, according to page 5 the top and bottom of the piston region should not be walls, but overset boundaries.. but in this case the model does not run with an error message that the “active overset behaviour needs to be mirrored on both sides..”

If anyone would like a .sim file to help me debug this, i am happy to oblige!

Update: i have now solved the issues i was having with the overset mesh and interfaces, if anyone wants to know more details, please write me or write to this post.

Thanks,
jason

Hi All,

I have solved the issues I had with the mesh, the interfaces and the overset boundaries. if anyone wants more info please write me or in this post.

Thanks

I am having troubles in modelling the piston overset interface. Can you suggest the overset mesh and topology conditions to use?
