Hello,
I am new to this software and I am conducting velocity flow investigations on a bike surface. When I changed the region type of the control volume block walls into ' free stream' and initialize the solution, I receive an an error saying that it is incompatible. The error vanishes when I change their type to wall. I don't not understand this issue. I would be grateful if someone would explain this to me and let me know how if I want to continue with the ' free stream' setting. Thank you. |

Do you by chance have constant density model selected? I believe that it requires ideal gas law.
You might be better off with a velocity inlet and pressure outlet. There are several tutorials that are similar to this that you might find helpful. |

Thank you. I will work on it and let you know. About the tutorials, I have searched on YouTube regarding star ccm+ but in vain. If you know some of them, I would be extremely grateful.

Hi Kotabhi,
usually StarCCM is installed with its manual (if you did not choose otherwise). The manual contains a tutorial section. Just open StarCCM and click on "Tutorial Guide" in the "Help" menu. You'll find some introductory information you should go through. You'll also find a section on incompressible flows. However, sometimes there are some supplementary files necessary which might are only available via the costumer portal. Best regards, Sebastian |
