Hi all,
I am new to STAR-CCM+ and trying to simulate flow around a surface-mounted cube. However, whenever I try directed meshing, the program gives the following error: "Number of loops in guide cad surface ... is not equal to one. This implies that cad face could be missing a cad edge." Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks. |

You cannot mesh that geometry as-is with the directed mesher. It works by sweeping a mesh on a face across a volume. No sweep is possible for your geometry because the cube is not swept across the guide (the vertical faces in your case).
If you want to directed mesh this you need to chop the volume into 3 pieces. First you must create a volume which is the volume occupied above the cube to the top face. Then slice the remaining large volume by the top face of the cube, making 2 volumes above and below that plane. |
