I’m working in a heat sink model. I’m trying to validate my results with an experiment results. I applied a heat source at the bottom of the heat sink and then i used the surface average to get the heat transfer coefficient at the surface of the heat sink. I got almost 350% which is not acceptable I don’t know why. My first question is do we consider the bottom of the heat sink ( where the heat source applied) when getting the heat transfer coefficient? Because I didn’t consider it I just considered the other sides.

Write down the equation for heat transfer coefficient and try to compute it using the face getting heat input on the heatsink. Is there anything missing that prevents you from calculating it?

@me3840 I got the boundary heat flux of the heat sink (whole geometry) over the temperature difference is this way right to get the heat transfer coefficient?.

Yes, that would be correct.
