Hi,
I was trying to simulate self propulsion test of a container ship using Star CCM+. Currently i am trying with 'propulsive force method'. ie, giving a point load at the CG of the vessel and trying to achieve a certain velocity. When i tick all the 6 DOF of motions in DFBI node under free motion, instead of vessel going in straight line motion it is making a circle. Vessel will go in straight line motion only if i restrict 'y motion' and 'z rotation.'
Anyone has any idea why it is making a circle...?
CG, moment of inertia everything seems correct.
