I was trying to estimate the resistance of KCS in shallow water condition using Star CCM+. I reduced the height of domain and made bottom as no slip wall condition. but everytime i am encountering with floating point exception error. I tried mesh refining so many times and reduced the time step upto 0.00001s also. Still error is same.
But the same simulation is working fine with deeper domain. I was following the exercise given in Star CCM+ tutorial. Can somebody help me to solve the problem. |

Hi,
You should explain more detail and attach picture.. no one can help you without simulation information.. when floating point problem occurs you should check 1. mesh problem 2. B.C problem 3. I.C problem 4. time step control 5. relaxation factor control |

Dear steve
Thanks for your reply. Boundary conditions are correct. I tried with a time step of 0.0001 s but still encountered the same error. Under relaxation factor also i varied. But there was no use. Can u help to solve the problem if i attach the simulation file after clearing the mesh... |
