Hello,
I am trying to import a file from solidworks into star ccm+ as a Parasolid ".x_t" file, but i get this error: Loading module: StarMeshing Loading module: MeshingSurfaceRepair Reading CAD model from Parasolid Transmit file: Part3 no features.x_t Started Parasolid modeler version 28.01.177 No coincident faces or edges found. Done importing surface: CPU Time: 0.29, Wall Time: 0.29, Memory: 82.56 MB Imported 0 parts Is there something wrong with the solidworks part itself or am i importing it wrong? Thank you. |

Have you tried a binary parasolid ".x_b"?
Can you open this parasolid in solidworks to see if there even is a part? It might be empty. |

Check that;
a) your *.x_t imports back into solidworks and shows the correct geometry (i.e. is not empty) b) ensure that you have solids, not surfaces, modeled. I have had issues with the parasolid import before. Auto repair was showing invalid bodies. If I import the native *.sldprt file auto repair fixed the issues for me. If you have the license for the native reader, use that. |

Thank you for the responses, but none of these solutions seem to work. I have discussed the problem with several people and they believe that the problem is in the way the shapes were created since i imported a curve using a text file with co-ordinates. I have abandoned the project and restarted it using different software.

Parasolid files of valid parts are importable into Star-ccm. Solidworks can generate parasolid files.
I have generated parts using curves from text files with coordinates in Solidworks. Well we can't see the part to say what is wrong or not wrong with it. It sounds like you are having generic CAD issues. Anyway, good luck. |
