Hi
I am a fresh graduate, as a part of my project i was asked to conduct simulations in starccm+ regarding the squat effects of KCS container ship. I'm really new to CFD and I basically self taught myself, so with the help of tutorials i made a simulation to measure the sinkage and trim of KCS ship. Simulation details are given below, Physics Cell Quality Remediation, Eulerian Multiphase, Exact Wall Distance, Gradients, Gravity, Implicit Unsteady, K-Epsilon Turbulence, Multiphase Equation of State, Multiphase Interaction, Realizable K-Epsilon Two-Layer, Reynolds-Averaged Navier-Stokes, Segregated Flow, Three Dimensional, Turbulent, Two-Layer All y+ Wall Treatment, VOF Waves, Volume of Fluid (VOF) Solvers 6-DOF Motion, Implicit Unsteady,Partitioning,Wall Distance,6-DOF Solver, VOF Wave Zone Distance, Segregated Flow, Segregated VOF, K-Epsilon Turbulence, K-Epsilon Turbulent Viscosity I have used KCS container ship for simulation. (Model Scale-31.6) I am very much confused with my results. I'm having a hard time to interpret the residual to ensure that my simulation is converging or that I have doing it all wrong.I have to run simulation for varying speeds,Depth and Width of canal. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Agnay |
