Hi STAR-CCM+ users,
I am trying to simulate a transient case with a force function applied to a rigid cylinder only in the x-direction without using overset meshing. https://imgur.com/Ckjs5Gq I have done this successfully in ANSYS CFX and want to replicate the problem in STAR CCM+. I have a few questions. 1. Does the mesh have to be 3D (1 cell thick) to use DFBI with a mass or can it be 2D? 2. Can you apply DFBI to a boundary and not a region (i.e. just the surface of the cylinder)? 3. Is it possible to define that all boundaries and whole domain move at the same rate as the cylinder - thus not deforming the mesh at all? (I have successfully done this in CFX). Any answers to any of the questions are greatly appreciated. Best regards, Lloyd Sullivan |
