Hello everybody,
I often thermally simulate geometries with very thin layers (Printed Circuit Boards, for instance a 1 mm Aluminum board with 70 µm Copper traces). For that, I use CHT and the copper is simulated being a Shell Region. Since Star-CCM+ offers the possibility of Structural Analysis, I´d like to stress simulate the above geometry as well. Is it possible, also to simulate the stress in a Shell Region with the FEM-Solver (or CSM)? Or do I need a 3D mesh instead of the Shell Region? Thanks a lot for your answer in advance. br, Dominik |
