Hi guys,

I am trying to simulate a bunch of particles moving in water and gas with a two way coupled model. i have simulated water and gas using eulerian multiphase and the particles using DEM. when i have a look to the volume fraction of water and gas, it is like the particles dont affect the volume fraction of the continuum phases at all. i want that the space occupied by the particles are not share with the continuum phases though. any ideas guys?

do i have to specify the multiphase interactions with VOF-lagangian phases or are these interactions assumed when i choose the two way coupling model for the DEM?

Thank you very much

Hi guys,

i am really struggling with this issue.

any idea of how STAR+ account for the particles when modelling the fluids? if the volume fraction of the continuum phase remain 1 despite there are plenty of particles, then the particles dont have any effect on the fluid right?

when i look at the volume fraction of particles i get reasonable results. the same with the void fraction. but the volume fraction of the fluid phase is not affected. i need help please!
