I'll be running some simulations remotely on a Linux server from my university. My question (and doubt) is how can I set up my simulation in order to define everything on my laptop but run the model on the server.
I have a power-on-demand licence and I also have the hostname and credentials to access the server. So far from what I could check it should be something to fill in the first window which pops out when I create a new simulation or open an existing one. |

the user guide is pretty good on this subject so ensure you have a good read
it is not clear what you want to do exactly since there are many ways to interact between clients and servers with star if the laptop is windows then it is hard to start a remote server which is running linux but once it is started eg via a remote desktop you can then connect a windows star gui client to that star server process |

Thanks for the reply.
Indeed I took a look at the user guide but, as you mentioned, I find out there are several ways to do it. I also contacted IT support from my university and the way they propose is through a remote access Windows-Linux (some software called Putty). With this, I'm able now to start STAR-CCM+ installed on the server remotely and run my simulations. |
