I have a cylinder with its axis along the Z-Plane. The cylinder was constructed by creating a circle on the x,y plane and extruding it along positive z-axis
After meshing, when I try to covert the cylinder to a 2D problem, i get an error stating "No planes found in z=0 direction" What am I doing wrong? |

Do you have a face of the cylinder that exists on z=0? The mesher will not cut through cells for you, the end of the cylinder must lie on z=0.

Wouldn't it be easier to just create a rectangular mesh for the 2D problem (assuming you're cutting a section along the length of cylinder?)
