Hello guys,
Been trying to make a nice hex mesh with StarCCM mesher for a film cooling problem. Although the mesh for the " box" region is quite ok, I am not quite getting a smooth axis symmetric mesh for the pipe/channel . when the tube is at 90 degrees , everything is fine, but when I try to mesh for other angles of the channel, the mesh is really bad/ skewed . http://turbomachinery.asmedigitalcol...01006_f001.png How can I overcome this problem? |

You can provide co-ordinate system for mesh. But then your overall mesh will be aligned in specified co-ordinate system. Instead what you can do is make inclined pipe as different region and then apply different mesh continuum for it. Create a co-ordinate system with axial direction as z-axis for that pipe and check the mesh alignment option in mesh continuum. Apply new created co-ordinate system to it. I hope this helps.
