Hello everyone!
My task is to simulate a laser metal deposition (laser cladding) process with STAR-CCM+ v12.02. Could you please advise me what is the best solution for modeling the energy/heat source from the laser beam? Is a description of the laser beam using a defined field function (mathematical Gaussian function) in your opinion an appriopriate approach? Or do you have another suggestions? I would be very grateful for your support! Thank you in advance Best regards, Piotr Last edited by Piterhawk16; December 26, 2017 at 15:28. |
