Hello everyone,
I ask for your help because I'm stuck for about 6 hours on this problem. I'm very new to Star CCM+ and as I was following this tutorial (everything was working perfectly as the guy in the video), I have a problem at 16min15s. I correctly created my scalar scene, but when it comes to selecting velocity magnitude function, it's not in my list. By the way, none of his functions are in my list. Here are mines : I attached screenshots I suppose I did something wrong or a simple option isn't selected, but I can ensure you I've followed the tutorial as described, so I don't see what is wrong. Please save me Thank you for your time |

it looks to me like you have not enabled enough physics since there are no solved variables in your list like pressure and turbulence etc - do the first tutorial in the help to work out what you have missed

Do you think I missed something when I created the project ? is there a box to tick ? Because excepting the project creation step, I've followed everything as the guy in the video so I don't really understand why he has the functions and not me. I don't even have velocity magnitude in the "regions" folder, as you can see here I attached you what I have when I create a project : here (I then select "import surface mesh", as shown in the image) |

see the user guide under tutorials and do a few of those first before tackling a real case

After hours and hours, I finally solved my problem!
In case another "newbie" ( ) would encounter the same problem here is the solution : you have to specify in your inlet your physics condition (velocity magnitude). Regions -> region -> Boundaries -> inlet -> physics values -> velocity magnitude Also, if you have multiple inlets, you have to specify it for each one. Once you have done this, Star CCM+ unlocks the functions (pressure, velocity etc.). Here is a screenshot of the solution : solution Hope this could hel! |
