Hi everyone!
I am trying to run a simulation of cooler with forced convection, like the one of the tutorial. However I have a problem when I import the geometry. The CAD is done in SW, and it is basically a solid box with an air entry and out, and inside it is an cooler and it's heat source. When I import the x_t file, star creates three parts as expected, however each only have one surface face, which complicates thing creating the regions and contact interfaces. Do Someone knows how to get an imported part as the one of the tutorial. Thanks a lot MP |

try doing a basic tutorial on geometry and meshing - there are several ways to split surfaces.

Thanks for the reply. I know how to do it, my point was if there is any option of importing the surface to geometry already separated.

in all the supported cad formats that can be imported there is a way to rename or identify faces in the original cad before export and those surfaces and names come into star but i dont know the property to change in solidworks but a bit of experimenting should find it

OK, I will check with the CAD options. Thanks a lot for the replies.
