Hello everyone
How can I run a sweep study in STAR-CCM+? I mean something like sweep studies in let's say, COMSOL multi physics where you can do a sweep on a certain parameter and the software automatically runs all the changes in that parameter and reports the results. My case is: I wanna do a sweep study on different turbulence models on a certain geometry and second is that I wanna change the drift angles of a ship model while analising drag force and propeller wake. So the question is that how can I adjust the software to change the drift angle automatically and calculate for the reports; Something like what COMSOL does. My guess is trying with Optimate. Any help would be appreciated. |

you should use design manager which does exactly that and is far better and is replacing optimate but i dont think you can vary turbulence models as part of such a parameter scan yet other than including a java macro in the mix

Tnx for the reply. Can u be more specific? Or even address some tutorials which do so? I rather avoid using java macros as much as possible |

there are two tutorials to teach you but it is very easy to use
Tutorials > Design Manager > Optimizing a Static Mixer Tutorials > Design Manager > Design Sweep of a Static Mixer |

very easy using either an exposed parameter in 3d-cad for that distance
or define a parameter in tools then use this to perform a part transform in a mesh operation prior to a unite or subtraction depending on how you have created your cad of each car |
