I am currently working on nano fluids project so want to track particle upto a size of 1e-8m and simulated upto 1e-5m with convergence. Can anyone help me out with the mesh base size and models to be used to simluate nano particles and their effect on heat transfer in a simple pipe geometry.

hi,
You can look at a DEM tutorial about particles settling Sent from my iPhone using CFD Online Forum mobile app |

I tried DEM particle settling tutorial and tried the same in a simple pipe geometry but i am unable to see the particles travel beyond a certain point. Could you suggest some physics model. models i am using are 1.constant density, 2.coupled density, 3.Coupled flow, 4. DEM, 5.Turbulent flow, 6.Implicit unsteady, 7.Lagrangian multiphase, 8.Multiphase interaction. etc. |
