Hi - technical question. 2D axisymmetric combustion simulation, using the CFM (Coherent Flame Model) method. Trying to create an ignitor near my fuel inlet boundary.

However, the ignitor requires a "shape" in order to influence an area - and nothing comes up on the list of possible shapes to use.

I already have several different parts, mostly cylinders, used for volumetric controls - but they do not show up on the list either. I've tried creating other parts specifically for the ignitor, too - but to no avail.

Am I doing something wrong? How do I produce such a 'shape' for this purpose?

Here's a pic of what I'm talking about:

Hi Aeromidd,

I am new to CFD and got no much clue about the details but I think this can help. The reason you are not able to see any list of shapes, is because you have not defined it the correct way. In your model tree go to Tools>Volume shapes create a new shape as per your requirement and then click create. Then you shall find this shape available in your ignitors's property tab.

Best,
Paresh

Hi Paresh,

That worked perfectly. Thankyou!
