Hello ,
I am new to CFD and I am trying to model in Cylinder flow using K omega turbulence model. I have setup everything and my mesh cells are around 4.3 million. Initially I ran a basic simulation using segregated flow for around 100 iterations and my results were not converging. (some steep change in specific dissipation rate at 20th iteration). Next I tried using coupled flow and initially I could tun 10 iterations and noticed that the residuals seemed good. But then now whenever I run again it shows insufficient virtual memory. So on using coupled flow I am facing this error. My system configuration of i7, quad core, 16gb ram,4 gb graphics card, 1128 SSHD. Star CCM+ crashes or just stops running because of this error and I am not sure why this is happening. I tried running it on 4 processors and also on 8 processors but it still doesn't help. Could anyone help me solve this ? |

sounds like not enough ram for your combination of mesh and solver I suggest you read the install guide on ram requirements.
tips for less ram are use the trimmer mesher, segregated solver, mixed precision, less cells, less field monitors |
