Hello guys,
I am trying to make a film cooling simulation with StarCCM but I have some problems. I have attached some pictures of my domain, mesh and some residuals. 1)I would like to know how to make a prism layer mesh for the entire domain. I mean, I want very small thickness near the wall and cell size increasing upto the top boundary. 2)I am not very sure about the mesh quality, especially at the hole inlet. Can someone assess it please? 3) I am expecting a symmetric temperature distribution but I am unable to get it. If something is not clear, please let me know. I am a basic user of this forum and would like to improve how I present my problem. Cheers, Arun |

What technique you used to mesh?
1. i guess you can also use directed mesh. To do that check tutorial "Directed Meshing: Electrical Machine". I will give you option to add or allow near wall thickness minimum by specifying it. 2. Once you click on mesh new mesh continua, it will you need to select prism layer method as well. hope it will help. Thank you, Quote:

I just read about the directed mesh and tried to implement it.
I have a problem assembling the two parts in my domain. the coolant region(cylindrical channel) and the cuboid region where my main flow is. I have no idea how I could use two seperate directed meshes for my problem |
