I'm an IT rep that was asked to install this software for a faculty member. I'm on Ubuntu 16. I want to know how to test the software to make sure the license checks out and the software's running properly.
At first when I did File > New Simulation, I got a license error about CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE. Then I set a global environment variable to our server: CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE="1999@*****.edu" (actual license server replaced by asterisks) and I no longer get the error. Now when I do File > New Simulation, a duplicate GUI workstation window pops up. In the original GUI workstation, the only text under "output" is the following: Code:
Starting local server: /opt/CD-adapco/STAR-CCM+11.02.010-R8/star/bin/starccm+ -rsh ssh Warning: glxinfo unable to obtain openGL support. Rendering plots with mesa. Last edited by wad11656; May 9, 2017 at 22:26. |

Never mind, I just had to log out then log back in again after setting the environment variable and now it works.
But why do I have to do File > New Simulation twice? The first time opens up a new identical window, then in the second one File > New Simulation makes it start working. |
