Hello friends!
I'm pretty new to all CFD software so sorry for the noob question.

I'm trying to create a rotating region in the Star-CCM+.
I found an official tutorial with rotating prop, but the interfsce creation part is already done there, and when i'm trying to create two regions from my parts with one click, terminal says "no interfaces were created" even though i have two same parts in different regions just like in the tutorial.

I will be very greatful if you can point me to any video or article about creating a rotating region and simulating a prop.

Thanks in advance!

Hi mark,

you cannot create an Interface between two regions, because a Region is a volume. An Interface can be created at two facing boundaries.

Thank you for the reply!
But then I have a question - do I need two regions for rotating propeller, or I can just create a boundary with a rotating area in it? What are my steps for doing this simulation?

Yes, u need two regions if u have a transient process. One is rotation and one stands still. Then there is an interfaceboundary between those two regions. If i think of an centrifugal pump it would be a barrel formed surface.
