Pie Slice Cut Out in circular computational domain

I have a rather large cylindrical mesh (short and large radius), with periodically (in a circle around the centre line of the cylinder) placed inflows at the top of the mesh and another set of periodic outflows along the outside of the cylinder wall.
I would like to cut back on my computational lode and shrink the size of my mesh. I wanted to set up a 60 degree pie slice shaped cut out (that's mandated by the periodicity of the in and outlets) with Symmetry Plane boundarie conditions on both side to simulate the full 360 degree of the pie. I have Lagrangian Particles with heat exchange moving inside the computational domain. Would that work? Alternatives? |
