hi everybody,
i'm trying to simulate a train entering a tunnel. I'm new with the overset mesh and i have only experience with sliding mesh. I have some difficulty to set the "overset mesh". When i analize the status of the overset mesh they not show as activ or inactiv (acceptor/donor). I'll explain you the steps that i followed:
I have maked the mesh in Icem. I have imported later from Star as VolumenMesh.
I seted the boundary of far field as "freeStream" and the Region incluing the train as the "oversetMesh". It was seted a "translation move" whit a variable speed (2*( ($Time <.5) ? (.5 -.5*cos(2*3.14159*$Time/(2*.5))):1 ) ) so that the simulation beging at the repose state until the train entering in the tunnel achive a speed 2 m/s.
My question are:
is a problem if the mesh of the "overset" and the "Background" don't have the same size?
Why when i run the simulation show a enorm values of velocity?
How can i set a apropiate "initial condition"?

i suggest you need to first do the overset tutorials in the help and then view the great steve article on how to debug overset issues because if you cant see the cell status then you are doing something very wrong.
dont even bother to run the case until you have good cell status after initialization.
