Good Morning,

I am having an interesting issue with a remote licensing server... In StarCCM+ when I goto Connect to server, and put in the hostname and port number, I get the error you see in the title of the thread.

Client is Windows 10 64bit, Server is unknown but I could find out.

So far:
-Ive made sure on the Firewall the ports 1999 and 2090 are open on our network
-Ive turned off Windows Firewall (and made sure I am not set to Public Location)
-Ive added an environment variable "CDLMD_LICENSE_FILE = 1999@hostname.redacted"
-Ive Ran StarCCM+ as administrator

Still no dice... Ive asked the remote end and they said they can see my client try to connect via a TCPView, briefly but no host checking out a license... furthermore, Connections were in status = "FIN_WAIT_2", but never went to status = "Established", which they see when checking out a license.

Any other ideas?

The connect to server you are using is not for licensing. That is for connecting to remove STAR-CCM+ servers.

Try just checking out a license by starting a new, blank simulation. Does that work?

Many thanks, I think it did, passed it onto the user and we were able to get an error -39, which I think is just the server needs to auth the client.

Cheers mate!
