Hello Guys,

I want to simulate i Spray Breakup in StarCCM with Lagrangian Multiphase. I've got a question for the phases in in the Physics-Modell. I need to take a Material in the Physics but also need to take Lagrangian Phases. For example i want a Liquid spray injection into an airchamber to elaborate primary and secondary Atomization. Which phase in Physics and which one in Lagrangian Phases?

Thank you!

Hi Awesomo

I'm starting too with Lagrangian multiphase models.

The Continuum phase I think it has to be the air and the discrete phase (Lagrangian phase) the liquid that you want to simulate the breakup.
Then you can create injectors to define where and when the liquid particles enter in the fluid continuum.

This simulates the secondary atomization I think. I have some doubts about how to simulate the primary atomization. There is a pressure-swirl atomizer model but it's a particular case for gas turbines or automobile engines.

You can visualize by using track file. My problem: How to calculate the droplet removal efficiency. My simulation is complete and i have a track file ready
