Non-physical stress values at contact interface Stress model

Hello all,
I am using the finite volume stress model implemented in StarCCM+ to do some stress analysis; I am modeling a ring-on-ring standard (ASTM) test on a hemspherical hollow body. The lower ring is fixed and on the upper one I apply a small (2.5e-5m) displacement. My interfaces are OK (conformal mesh) but I obtain really strange stress values at cells bordering the contact interface. Is someone familiar with such problems? Max |

I believe it is now in 11_02 they have a finite element stress solver, perhaps try this,
Just to test, you could try fusing the boundaries to see if it is a bug with contact interface, |
