Hello Guys!
I'm running turbulent air flow in rectangular duct for HVAC application in star ccm+ and I need to determine where fully developed flow occurs along the duct length. Is there a way to do so? is it correct to say fully developed flow occurs when dv/dx=0 and dp/dx= const in case of turbulent non circular pipe? Any input is really appreciated. Thanks |

I think it is a good definition you defined,
perhaps you can make a line probe in the center and use that as the part in an x-y plot to visualize the center line velocity, also another x-y plot using the walls and examine wall shear stress, thus to help visualize things. |
