Hi,
This is my first time on the forums, and I am extremely new to CFD, so please bear with me if I ask simplistic questions, or do not understand the terminology. I am finding the rotation rate of a VAWT, and if anyone has a better way for preparing the geometries, physics values etc., I am all ears. The simulation consists of a rotating body, and a an embedding cube (used in the same way as "Marine Resistance Prediction: KCS Hull with a Rudder"). I have DFBI Embedded rotation motion on the rotating body, and have inputted the rotating body as a 6-DOF body. The rotating body has a body motion of One-DOF Rotating Motion around the z-axis. The initial center of mass is the origin (laboratory coordinate system). When the simulation is run, the following error message pops up: Rigid Body "Body 1" has no embedding interface. Please check initial position of center of mass! Command: RunSimulation error: Server Error I have found a forum that deals with the same issue: http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/sta...ping-grid.html . However, the solution did not help in my case. I am quite sure the initial center of mass is the origin of the rotating body, so perhaps the problem is converting between laboratory and local coordinate systems (I do not know how to convert) ??? All help will be appreciated. Thx. |
