Good day,

I am trying to model a filter bag as a porous media while having a compressible flow.

I couldn't find related information in steve portal. There is just info about modeling porous media having incompressible flow.

Could you please guide me in this regard?

I appreciate your time.

I assume you have pressure drop data that you are using to calculate your resistance coefficients, no? Does this data span the full velocity range your media will see? If so, then your coefficients derived from this data will take into account the compressibility already. If not, then you may have to make some assumptions.

For example, if you have velocity vs dp data that is assumed to be incompressible you can go through and apply the Prandtl-Glauert correction to the pressure values before obtaining your coefficients (assuming you have subsonic flow). If you aren't going to see compressible mach number (above 0.3) then I wouldn't worry too much about it. Beyond M=0.3 you will start to see more than 5% impact and you might want to consider it, but below that it's fairly trivial and can be neglected.
