Currently we are conducting a study of two phase flow in U bends, especially for annular flow using VOF model. When we start to analyze the liquid film in the bend, we realized that the film is starting to rotate, but we don’t know how to prove the rotation.
We were thinking to use the vorticity of the liquid face (calculating this as the vorticity multiply by the volume fraction of the liquid) and check the sign of the vorticity in the component that we are interested, but we don’t know if this proves the rotation or if there is a way to obtain the rotational matrix of the flow, and obtain the liquid rotational matrix (as with the vorticity) and with this prove the rotation of the liquid film. Any suggestions? |
