Hi everyone!

I have a problem with a simulation I'm working on.

I would like to know the Average velocity on a disc. But this disc is in the "middle of nothing".
I tried to make it in "3D-CAD Model" but I can't see it in the geometry scene. And then, I try to create a report "Surface Average". In the part section, I select this disc (Parts>Body2>Surfaces>MyDisc) but when I run the simulation, I only get 0 as value.

I also tried to assign the part as a region. So my disc is know a region. I select "Free Stream" because I don't want it to be a wall. But "Free Stream" seems to impose the direction of the stream to be normal to the surface. With is a problem for me.

I hope this is understandable and somebody has an answer...

Thank you!

1. What do you mean 'in the middle of nothing'?
2. If you can't see it in your geometry scene you probably need to add it to parts or just drag it over into the scene and select the geometry displayer box that appears. You will need to probably right click and select representation > geometry.
3. Did you run your simulation after adding this so that it is part of your solution or are you really trying to get surface average at some imaginary invisible boundary in your flow?

I found it! What I looking for is an arbitrary plane. I select my disc as part to define it and a put a report on it...
So thank you for your help!
