Hello Guys!
I am currently working on my master thesis, in which I will investigate how heat transfer coefficient enhanced using different augmentation techniques such as inserting twisted tape or using ribs inside circular pipe, etc. My question is, as new user of CFD softwares, can I use star ccm+ to investigate the heat transfer enhancement using these methods? for laminar and turbulent flow? I really appreciate your help! |

Yes, just keep y+ values around 1 when modeling turbulent flows.
And keep in mind that heat transfer coefficient enhanced is a special thing: it comes in pair with "average fluid temperature" which is a questionable parameter. I'm a rare guest on the forum. Got questions? - Skype: cwl.net |
