Possible overset error?

After reading up on the literature of overset grids, I think I could have an issue?
I'm trying to simulate the flow over a cylinder at Re = 100 and model the cylinders response (translation in Y) due to the Von Karman street. The overset appears to be working and translation is happening without any warnings. However, when looking at vorticity, there appears to be vorticity being generated and 'smeared' within the overlapping region of the overset (see following images for setup). I've checked my cell status and it seems a little weird, but it appears the passive cells are being separated from the active cells by acceptor cells (see following image). But, when looking at velocity or pressure within the scalar scene, no 'smearing' is present within the overlapping region like there is when looking at vorticity. Interestingly, my Overset error status is 0 everywhere (cell has no error). My other concern is that it appears I only have 2 overlapping cells, when it is recommended to have 4-5 cells in the overlapping region. How can I increase the number of cells within the overlapping region? Many thanks, Ollie. |
