Hi,
I am using STAR CCM+ for setting up a transient DEM simulation for particle flow through an orifice. The particles are flowing through a pipe and exit the pipe via an orifice. The particle-flow starts only when the orifice of the pipe is filled properly(). So I use an particle injector in the pipe, let the pipe fill and release the flow once the pipe is filled. The entire simulation is taking so long and a huge portion of it is being wasted in filing the pipe. Also I need to analyse for different orifices. So I am thinking of filling the pipe using one default mesh, and stitch(join) that pipe mesh to different orifice geometries and continue the simulation. Is this even possible in Star CCM? So I need help for the following question Can we join a mesh region, whose solution is already been done, to a new mesh? Can we join to separate mesh regions out of which one already has a solution? |
