Hi all,
Is there a way to calculate a moving (rolling) average using a regular "Report monitor" within Star CCM+? I am looking for an alternative to exporting the monitor data and calculating the moving average in a third-party software like Matlab. Cheers, gravis |

If you have access to the Steve portal, there is a specific article discussing making a rolling average for a field mean monitor. Make field mean -> Enable Sliding Window Average -> Insert number of iterations or time steps
Hope this helps. |

Many thanks. The thing with the suggested approach is that a rolling average would be calculated in each cell. What I wish to do is to calculate a rolling average of a global scalar from a relatively large number of samples. As the number of samples grows for a rolling average of a field mean monitor, the simulation file size could become impractically large as the solution should be stored in all cells for each sample.
