Hey guys, this question has been bothering me for a long time and I just cannot get a answer to this:
I am wondering how star-ccm+ connects the two heat balance equations if a conjugate heat transfer problem is modeled , say conduction heat from a fluid to a solid wall. Is it usind the "direct coupling" method, solving both equations simultaniously after having connected them through the assumption that the temperature or heat flux are identical at the phase-boundary, OR does it solve each equation in turn and take one sides result as a boundary condition for solving the heat balnce equation on the other side in the next step? And if it is that case here, does it use the same solver? I hope someone of you guys can help me out since that question has been bothering me and I could find no answer!! Thanks alot in advance! Best, Fritz |
