Hi all,

I'm trying to simulate a wheel in a wind tunnel.
I have done an analisys with the floor and the wheel without moving and the result seem reasonable. But now I would like add movement to the floor and rotation to the wheel to get more accurate results.

If I go to My Region > Boundaries (wheel) > Physics Conditions > Tangencial Velocity Specification I find different methods (Rotation Rate, Vector and Local Rotation Rate) and different Reference Frame (Relative to mesh and Absolute).

The same if I go to My Region > Boundaries (floor).

How would I configure these options to give more precision to my results ??

Thanks,

I did set it up like this:

Wheel: Tangencial Velocity Specification --> Rotation rate (in my case 237 rpm)
Floor: Tangencial Velocity Specification --> Vector ( in my case (0.0, 0.0 , -30.0)km/h)

Is this right ??

Thank you !

Hi everyone,

I'm very interested about the simulation of a moving floor.
The previous link in olaeur's answer doesn't work yet.

Somebody can help me please ?

I would like to simulate an air flow in a wind tunnel along a train, I've already simulated with the floor stoped but now I want it moving. Should I look with the tangencial velocity ?

Thanks, have a nice day.

Hugo.

Hi hugz,

Yep only add a tangential velocity to the floor and that's it.

Cheers
