Hi @ all,
i have the following questions: what is the maximal acceptable courant number for an instationary simulation of natural convection in a fluid region? what kind of literature would you suggest? i have a hard time finding literature that acknowledge this matter properly. are there any ways to decrease the courant number besides decreasing the time step? because i have to simulate over a pretty long time span and a small time step would be a big nuisance the maximum courant number in my actual simulation is over 110, the time step is 1 sec, the inner iterations are set to 20 and i am pretty sure the courant number is a way too high, the residuals look pretty good i think thanks for you help pics are attached for more information of my simulation : http://www.cfd-online.com/Forums/sta...container.html |
